Look up your VAT return (UStVA)

The UStVA is the advance VAT return (Umsatzsteuer-Voranmeldung) you send to the tax office. The app calculates the figures, but a person files the return; nothing is sent to ELSTER.
Open Tax. The VAT return card shows the next return and its due date, and Deadlines lists all returns that are due.
For the figures, open Bookings, choose Reports and then VAT return / ZM. Pick the period in Return period.
The table lists each return box (Kz) with its tax base and tax. Below it, Left out or assumed names bookings the app could not place, for example bookings without a tax code; fix them and look again.
A red notice says when the box mapping is not yet signed by the tax advisor. Then treat the figures as a draft and have them checked before filing. If the return is switched off for this client, use Switch on in settings.
Under the period choose VAT return CSV or Summary (HTML) to download the figures. ZM CSV (BZSt) is the list of sales to other EU countries (ZM) for the federal tax office.
