Enter the DATEV numbers for a client

Open Settings, then the DATEV tab.
Enter the Consultant number: digits only, 1000 to 9999999, without a leading zero.
Enter the Client number: digits only, 1 to 99999, without a leading zero.
Both numbers are assigned by the firm in DATEV (the accounting software the tax advisor uses). If you do not know them, ask your tax advisor.
Choose Save. Saved appears. If a number is outside its range, the app tells you which one.
Under Account length choose how many digits the ledger account numbers have in the DATEV files, 4 to 8 (4 is the DATEV default). Personal accounts carry one digit more.
The length can only be changed until the first entry or export exists. After that the app says it is fixed. Only owners and admins can change it.
Until both numbers are saved, DATEV would reject the batch, so the export stays locked.
