Task guides
Release a validation blocker
Step-by-step task guide: Inbox and documents.
- Firm owners, firm admins, accountants and bookkeepers may release a finding; for other roles the panel is shown without a button. Nothing needs switching on.
- The panel Validation checks lists what the automatic cross-check found on a document or booking, each as Blocker, Warning or Info. Only an open blocker stops the booking: the Inbox shows Booking blocked, the booking is marked in the queue, and its book button is disabled; the server refuses it too. Warnings and info never block.
- You see the panel in the Inbox while you review a booking and in the booking itself under Bookings. A held bank statement shows its blocker on the Accounts tab of Finances.
- Read before you release. Each row says what disagrees with the document, for example a total or invoice number that is not in the document text, a VAT amount that is wrong, or Open booking and Open the other booking for a duplicate. If the supplier's IBAN is not a known account of the supplier, treat it as possible invoice fraud: confirm the account with the supplier through a channel you already know.
- To release: click Release with a reason, write why it is correct anyway in the field (at least 3 characters) and click Release. The row then shows "Released" with your reason. The release is written to the audit log and stays when the checks run again.
- A release does not fix the data, it only lets you go on. If a value is wrong, correct the booking instead. For a real duplicate do not release: keep only one of the two bookings.
- Only an open finding can be released. If someone released it first, the page reports a conflict; reload.
