The AI agent

Work with the agent in sessions: ask, attach files, add context, approve plans and share a session.

The agent is the page you work in most. You give it a task in plain language, it reads and drafts with the same permissions you have, and you decide what stays. Sign-in, teams and roles are explained in Sign in and roles.

Sessions

The Agent page lists your Sessions. A session is one conversation with its own messages, files and canvas. Use New Session to start a fresh one, open an older one from the list, Rename it or use Delete session (the app asks "Delete this session? This cannot be undone."). Before the first session the list says "No sessions yet".

In short

One task, one session. The agent keeps the whole conversation, so you can come back to a session later and continue where you stopped.

Try it

Open the Agent page and choose New Session.

Type a task in the field "Give me a task..." and press Enter, or choose Send.

Rename the session so you can find it again.

Good to know

  • Deleting a session cannot be undone.
  • The agent works in your organization and in the team you have selected. Teams are described in Teams and members.

The canvas

Next to the chat there is a Canvas. Documents, checklists and pages the agent opens appear there, and live activity shows while it works. Opened items can be shown Open in new tab, Expand or closed again. A Timeline lists the steps of the agent (for example Thought, Searched, Read, Writing) as they happen, and Files lists what belongs to the session.

In short

The chat is where you talk, the canvas is where the result appears. Whether the agent may open documents, checklists and pages on its own is a setting under Rules, see below.

Good to know

  • Until something is opened the canvas says "Documents and live activity appear here as the agent works."
  • The agent only opens items for which you hold the right to read them.

Writing a message

The field at the bottom takes your task. While you type, suggestions appear under the field: earlier prompts, phrases and things from your workspace. Press the plus button (Add context) to insert items as context. The list offers Documents, Tasks, Risks, Routines, Connectors, Teams, Checklists, Library and Templates, plus Upload file and Screenshot. The agent then works on exactly that item. Typing @ followed by the name of a connector inserts it as a mention. A microphone button records your voice and transcribes it ("Start voice recording", "Transcribing...").

You can also attach files. A file that is still uploading must finish before you send ("is still uploading. Wait a moment, then send again."); a file that was blocked or failed must be retried or removed first.

In short

Say what you want, and point at the item it is about with Add context. Files you attach are read by the agent in that session.

Try it

Choose the plus button and pick a document under Documents. A chip appears in the field.

Type "Summarize the open points" and send.

Try Improve prompt with AI. The app shows a suggested rewrite; choose Use this or Keep original.

Good to know

  • Whether files attached in a session are also stored in the team library is the setting Save uploads to library under Rules.
  • Improving a prompt can be refused for a moment with "Too many rewrites. Wait a moment and try again."
  • Under Model Selection the default is Auto: "Router decides". Models are marked as tool-capable or text only.

While the agent works

A running turn shows what the agent does. You can type into the field ("Type to steer the running turn...") to steer it or to queue the next instruction, and Stop ends the turn. A message you sent shows "Sending" and then "Waiting for the agent" until it is picked up. If a message could not be delivered, use Send again or Discard.

For longer jobs the agent first proposes a plan: "Plan awaiting approval". Choose Run to let it execute, or Cancel. Whether a plan always needs your approval is the rule Require plan approval.

If the agent needs a decision it asks short questions. Pick an answer, use Write your own..., move with Next and Back, and finish with Submit. Skip all tells the agent to proceed with its best judgment.

In short

You stay in control: steer while it runs, stop it, approve or cancel its plan and answer its questions.

Good to know

  • If too many messages are waiting, the app says "Not sent. Too many messages are waiting for the agent."
  • Reload the page during a run: the session reconnects and shows the work done so far.

Edit, retry and report

On a message you sent, choose Edit message and send it again with Update and resend, or choose Retry on a reply. If something is wrong with an answer, Report a problem with this opens a short form ("Report a bug"). The report goes to a Slack channel, so it needs Slack to be connected for your workspace; otherwise the app says "Not available" or "Slack isn't connected for this workspace."

Good to know

  • Connect your own Slack in the Connectors settings so that reports appear under your name and not as the app. See Connectors.

Files of a session

The Files view splits a session into Uploaded by you and Created by the agent. A link, "All files in the library", leads to the library. Files can be previewed, downloaded or opened in a new tab; archives show their content as far as it is safe to preview. See Library and files.

Good to know

  • Large files show only the first part; download them for the full file.

Computer use

For some research tasks the agent drives a browser. The canvas then shows the Live computer screen with the steps it takes. You can Take control yourself and Return control to agent when you are done, view it in Fullscreen and move between steps. When computer use is off the screen says "Computer use is off, ask the agent to use the browser to start a session".

In short

You can watch the agent work in a browser and take over at any time.

Share a session

Share opens "Share session". Choose how long the link is Valid for (1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or no limit), whether it can be Open once only, and the minimum role needed (Viewer, Editor or Admin). Copy link creates and copies it. A person who opens the link sees the session as "Shared session, read only", and only if they have access.

Good to know

  • A link is unavailable if it expired, was used up or you do not have access: "This link is unavailable or you do not have access."

Rules: what the agent may do

Under Settings, Agent, Rules you control what the agent may do on its own ("Control what the agent can do automatically."). The groups are:

GroupRules
AutomationRun compliance analysis, Create tasks, Triage tasks, Update organization profile
Document GenerationGenerate DPAs, Improve documents, Write documents
ResearchCompany research, Legal research, Web research
NavigationOpen checklists automatically, Open documents automatically, Open pages automatically
Data ProtectionAsk before deleting: Checklist data, Documents, Uploaded files, Tasks
Tool PolicyRequire plan approval
File UploadsSave uploads to library
Active legal frameworksAt least one legal framework must stay active

Good to know

  • Rules limit the agent, not you. Everything it can read or change also depends on your role, see Sign in and roles.
  • Settings are described in Settings.
